Denver's Year-Round Sports Leagues Welcome Beginners Across Multiple Neighborhoods
Newcomers to Denver's sports scene can join established adult and youth leagues that run year-round across multiple neighborhoods.
How we reported this

The National Women's Soccer League awarded Denver an expansion club, opening a new professional pathway that also highlights broader opportunities for residents to participate in local sports.
This development matters now because Denver already supports dozens of community leagues that accept players at various skill levels, allowing residents to connect with teams without prior experience in organized play.
Adult league options across the city
Volo Sports runs adult community leagues in 24 Denver neighborhoods and offers more than a dozen sports at 41 venues throughout the year. OutLoud Sports Denver, founded in 2007, provides inclusive programs in kickball, dodgeball, soccer and pickleball for LGBTQ+ athletes and allies. DGLFFL operates as Colorado's premier 7-on-7 LGBTQIA+ flag football league, established in 2008, and fields 24 teams with more than 300 players in Greater Denver. Denver Citywide Sports schedules co-ed leagues in basketball, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, kickball, softball and soccer at city parks and recreation centers with rolling registration available.
Youth and school programs
i9 Sports delivers community-based youth programs at more than 40 locations stretching from Brighton to Thornton. Denver Public Schools high school athletics for the 2025-2026 season begin with official practices and tryouts on Monday, August 12, 2025, for fall sports including football, boys soccer and girls volleyball. The 2025-2026 pay-to-play fee stands at $92 for standard students and $26 for those eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch.
Prospective participants can review registration details and physical requirements directly through each organization's listed programs to match schedules and locations with personal availability.
